This year I have been invited to present at Decisions Fall 2010. I had heard of this virtual conference before, and some of my associates attended it and had really positive experience.
I was really happy to accept, and looked forward to learn how content gets prepared and produced so it can be delivered in virtual form. Fortunately, the team from MSDynamicsWorld.com has a lot of experience in organizing this event and provided a nice and worked-out schedule. Preparations of the content started several months before the event with preparations of the slides together with the editing team, and recording of the audio content a month before the event.
The event started on 01.11.2010. with AX Day (a day of event dedicated to Microsoft Dynamics AX) and lasted for 4 days. I got the data from organizers and only the AX day had 1475 visitors and the whole event had over 3250 visitors, which is a real big number for both AX alone and whole event with very targeted and in-depth content.
I presented a track about Agile Software Development and Microsoft Dynamics AX. Other days of event were dedicated to different Microsoft Dynamics products - GP, NAV, and CRM. Besides me there were many other Microsoft MVPs, as well as many of the most well-respected Dynamics professionals from around the world. One really nice thing that surprised me in this virtual conference was the networking lounge created especially for this purpose.
